Australis Bronzeyed Girl Eyeshadow Palette

Australis has been absolutely killing it with their latest releases. I can't remember the last time they came out with a product I didn't declare myself a fan of, and this latest eyeshadow offering is no exception. The Bronzeyed Girl palette is marketed as a collection of golden and bronze eyeshadows with high colour payoff and long wear formula. I had pretty high expectations of this release, so I've been putting it to the test for the past two and a half weeks.

The palette contains six shimmery shades in a very sleek, sturdy black case. The lid clicks closed securely and the plastic is matte, so you won't need to be super conscious about fingerprints. I will say I was kind of sad to discover that the shades don't have any names, but that's a minor gripe considering its performance. Another thing to note is that there are no matte shades included in the lineup, so if shimmery isn't your thing, I'd steer clear.

#1 is a light golden yellow
#2 is a rich, brassy gold
#3 is a soft pinkish champagne

#4 is a taupe that leans slightly more brown
#5 is a gorgeous brown, and in my opinion, had the best pigmentation of the bunch
#6 is a deeper, reddish brown

The colours in the palette aren't necessarily ones I would have thought to put together myself and I wasn't really convinced that I would be able to create a complete look with them. Although I do wish there was a bit more variety- I would have loved to see a darker, smokier shade for night looks- the colours do wind up working together. Also, a matte shade for blending would have been a welcome addition in my book, but I don't believe that's what the palette was aiming for.

The texture and pigmentation of all the shadows is awesome. They're all soft to the touch and don't require a whole lot of effort to blend on the eye. I will say that because they are so soft, I find them to be a bit powdery. I have to tap my brush off thoroughly before application to avoid fall out. Because of this, I find that the inside of my palette gets a little messy, but it's easily cleaned.

I tested all the shades with and without primer over an eight hour shift at work and I didn't experience any noticeable fading until most of the day had already passed. Having said that, I did have a little bit of creasing, but not an amount that would put me off recommending it to my friends.

Australis has definitely done a solid job with this palette, and I can see it being a must have in a girl's makeup bag especially in the summer time. The Bronzeyed Girl palette retails for $9.95 and is available now.
