Eye-Conic Loves

2014 was the year I really got into wearing eyeshadow, but that doesn't mean I quite got over my laziness where application is concerned. I haven't quite worked up the nerve to delve beyond the realm of neutrals either (hello 2015 beauty resolutions!), so this favourites post is probably going to seem pretty monotone!

Maybelline Color Tattoos | Barely Branded, Bad to the Bronze
As someone still warming up to wearing eyeshadow on a regular basis, these are great for me. They can be worn on their own as a sheer wash or used as a base for others. They're super easy to blend and I've never had an issue with them creasing, even when the weather warms up. While I prefer the neutrals, there's a great colour range for those who are a bit more adventurous.

By Terry Ombre Black Star | Frozen Quartz
I feel like these have been getting a lot of love around the internet the past couple of months, but the price tag meant that I umm'd and ahh'd for quite some time before I bit the bullet. I love that they're in a wind up tube- application becomes super convenient and it can easily be thrown into a bag if you're planning on needing to put makeup on later on.

Lancome Ombre Hypnose Dazzling Eye Colour | Topaz Dore
This cream shadow has an almost bouncy texture to it. I love that it has finely milled shimmer that looks gorgeous in the sunlight, but isn't glaringly obvious. The shadow can be applied sheerly with fingers or with a brush to build colour intensity.

Urban Decay Naked 3
I'm an absolute sucker for rose tones and I've always been a fan of Urban Decay's shadow formula, so this palette was a no brainer for me. There's enough variation in colour and finish that I can get a complete eye look from it for either day or night, without needing to reach for anything else.

Urban Decay Naked Basics
I don't know if you can tell how beat up my palette is from the photo, but this baby has been put through the wringer in 2014. Whenever I need to pick a palette to take on the go with me, this is usually it. These are some of my favourite mattes, not to mention I can generally get away with using Faint to fill my brows- always a fan of a multi tasker.

Too Faced Natural Eyes
I always love the way Too Faced puts their palettes together, and this one is probably my favourite of all the ones I own. The shadows are amazing to work with, and if I'm lacking inspiration, the actual layout of them within the palette always helps.

bareMinerals The True Romantic
Rose gold packaging? Check. Sweet shadow names? Check. This little palette is nifty when I've only got a few minutes to get ready in the morning, I usually just pick one of the mid tones and blend it all over my lid. The matte brown is awesome for the crease and the brows- so much to love.

Benefit They're Real!
This took over Lancome's Hypnose to become my new all time favourite mascara. All the hype surrounding it made me quite skeptical, but as far as I'm concerned, its rep was well earned. I have an issue with smudging mascara no matter what I do, and no matter what I got up to, I never had a raccoon eye problem with this one. It's also amazing at holding a curl, so if you've got straight eyelashes like I do, definitely give this one a go.

theBalm Tall, Dark and Handsome
I had never heard anything about mascaras from theBalm, so this one was a pleasant surprise. It's not the most amazing mascara in terms of giving volume, but the length it gives is awesome. Similarly to They're Real! it holds a curl amazingly and doesn't give me any issues with smudging.
